We're home, finally!

From selling our Sparrow Way home last spring to living in a rental and planning on building our European inspired Boxwood floorplan for ourselves... MUCH has changed!

We bought our dream land in Elk Ridge, and we are so excited we were able to do that! The development that went in is just perfect and we're so thankful we scored one with the most perfect view!

Turns out, that lot didn't fit our floorplan, but the lot itself was pretty close to perfect so we figured it would be best to just give it another go with a new floorplan.

We've all met the charlotte floorplan, right? She’s timelessly designed, engineered, and has a custom design package to go with it, is all priced out and is... for sale.

As much as we love, love, love this house... we actually didn't intend to live in it. Instead, we planned to sell it as soon as it was finished, mostly because of interest rates.

We talked to the bank about every different way to finance it as builders and ultimately just decided to list it as a "To Be Built" home and to let someone come in, finance it, and customize it just the way they love.

So where does that leave us?

In a rental...

Now if you know me, you know that I PREACH: 1. not to go into debt and 2. not to rent (unless, you know, circumstances, but BUY A HOUSE WHEN YOU CAN) because, ahem I'm a Realtor.

It's sound advice, really.

But this meant that I was literally NOT doing what I preach!!

So we decided it was finally time to buy.

Interest rates are sky-high and so are home prices but we felt that where we were living just wasn't home anymore- I mean, it never really was... but we went out searching intently for it and within just one day, we had an offer on a house.

Three and a half weeks later, it's ours.

And it feels like home.
